Shepherdess Carrying Water – Maple Wood

This charming sculpture captures a moment of rural life with surprising grace. The young shepherdess, depicted in dynamic and light motion, moves with measured steps as she carries the fruits of her daily labor. The expression on her face is of a touching serenity: her downward gaze and slight smile suggest dedication and humility.

The artisan craftsmanship enhances the richness of details, from the soft folds of her rustic clothing, painted in warm shades of terracotta and ivory, to the objects she carries: a bucket on her left arm and a jug against her right hip, balanced by a staff resting on her shoulder. Every nuance of color, applied by hand with a matte finish, gives depth and realism to the scene.

Crafted entirely from Maple Wood, this sculpture is the emblem of Val Gardena’s sculpting tradition. It is available in various finishesfrom classic colored (C) to understated natural (N) and a three-tone brown finish (3G)to perfectly suit every collection or setting. The precision of the forms, even in the smallest sizes (from 6 cm to 15 cm), testifies to the mastery of our sculptors.
