This Saint Blaise bishop sculpture is hand-carved in the Val Gardena tradition, with richly modelled drapery and a detailed polychrome finish that emphasises the form and texture.

The saint is depicted in a contemplative, blessing pose, wearing a scarlet mantle, golden stole and an indigo-blue tunic with fine decoration. Carved details include an ornate miter, golden crozier and the open book he holds; the serene, downcast expression conveys quiet spirituality.

Each statue is entirely hand-finished. Sizes up to 56 cm are in maple wood; larger sizes are in linden. The coloured finish (C) is hand-painted with high-quality oil paints; the 3G finish uses three rich brown tones to enhance the natural wood grain. Durable and made to traditional standards.
