Revolutions in Worldview: Understanding the Flow of Western Thought

The thesis of this book is that western thought has experienced a series of profound changes in thinking – nothing less than revolutions. Within these ten trajectories additional shifts and conflicts in basic beliefs occurred. Chronicling these revolutions should enable Christians living in the 21st century to understand the flow of western thought – how key ideas persisted over time; how unique perspectives such as the nature of the deity, the questions of human nature and the cosmos got their original impetus and developed to their present state; how ideas spawned debates that remain with us; and how shifts from theism to secularism have intensified.
