This statue of King Caspar depicts him with his head bowed in devotion, holding his gift a restrained, contemplative addition to a Nativity scene. The robes are stylised and fluid in form, contrasting with the figure’s matte dark complexion.

Colours combine warm orange and peach-yellow tones with cream-white borders, finished with glossy gold and silver metallic accents on the turban and wrists.

Handcarved in precious maple wood in the Val Gardena tradition, the piece uses a veiled painting technique that lets the natural wood grain show through, so each sculpture is unique.
